Management of Spring Training Physicals - Major League & Minor League
Coordination of MD Schedules
MD Travel Logistics
Coordination of Outside Medical Vendors
Responsible for vendor quotes and appropriate billing

Additional Diagnostics PRN
Maintain high level of communication with Major League Head ATC/PT, Minor League Medical Coordinator, and MiLB Rehab Coordinator
Management of Domestic Amateur Draft Physicals

Assist with Major League player IL rehab assignments as directed by the Major League Head ATC/PT
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Management
Oversee appropriate documentation as required by MLB through the MLB EMR system
Supervise medical doctor dictation and approval of dictations
Maintain appropriate communication with applicable medical practice coordinators to obtain player medical documentation in a timely manner
Ensure that MLB EMR Guidelines are uphold by the Houston Astros medical staff

Workers Compensation Management
Opening workers compensation claims
Informing risk management when player is scheduled for MD visit or imaging. Advises risk management on personal vs work related incidents.
Maintain internal record keeping of all open workers compensation claims
Monthly updates with Monica, etc., on the status of current open claims
Management of billing for Minor League medical visits with Monica
Providing appropriate documentation to Monica in the event an ex-player attempts to open a claim, etc.
Updates risk management team on work related physical therapy appointments.
TUE Management
Working with appropriate physicians when a player wants to apply for a TUE
MLB certified clinicians
Clinical psychologists
TUE renewals
Temporary TUE’s for drafted players when appropriate
Provide all appropriate documentation to MLB personnel when players are going through the TUE application process
Previous testing regarding diagnosis
Appropriate follow-ups with treating physicians
Previous pharmacy records
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
NATA-BOC Certified and in good standing
Eligible for FL and TX state licensure
CPR/AED certification required
Previous baseball experience preferred, but not required
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Athletic Training or related field
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office.
Work Environment
Position will work in an office and stadium environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment.
Physical Demands

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as bending, reaching, throwing, and swinging a bat.
