The Fayetteville Woodpeckers are seeking highly motivated and energetic individuals to join the Marketing Department as a Marketing Associate during the regular baseball season. This position will work with the Marketing Director and team leaders to develop digital, social and traditional marketing strategies, as well as fulfill game day elements, and execute marketing opportunities. Marketing Associates will rotate between responsibilities as it relates to Ballpark Entertainment, Community & Media Relations, Fan Engagement, Digital Marketing as well as Video and Graphic Design. You should also be an excellent social media user with the ability to promote the Woodpecker brand and answer fan inquires.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in execution of game elements consistent with department philosophy along with company values, vision, and mission.

  • Coordinate with Marketing Department team members to promote Woodpecker brand in the Fayetteville and surrounding areas.

  • Assist with management of production videos, features, and game footage for internal and external distribution.

  • Work scheduled Woodpeckers home games in assigned staff positions as needed.

  • Complete special projects as assigned.

  • Assist in organizing and participate in grassroot marketing efforts for internal and external distribution.

  • Collaborate with the creative team to create content for social media and in-game elements.

  • Maintain content calendar to ensure correct and relevant content; including interaction and response to fans/users’ comments, questions, etc.

  • Update image/b-roll library and maintain the organization of archives throughout the season.

  • Assist with writing and reviewing game day scripts, making sure sponsorship elements are accurate and implemented.

  • Assist in the creation of unique, behind-the-scenes content for the Woodpeckers.

  • Assist in developing and strengthening Woodpeckers relationships with selected Fayetteville area charitable and community organizations.

  • Increase positive internal and community wide relationships as well as a positive media presence as a result from all community events and interactions.

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be highly creative, possess strong initiative, be detail oriented and comfortable in large crowds.

  • Must be a part of the gameday entertainment and enjoy entertaining fans.

  • Ability to work extended or unpredictable hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and Premiere.

  • Shared passion for the business and a desire to positively influence the business.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with other departments and tenured production staff.

  • Must by very organized, flexible and able to work in a live production and fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

  • Position will work within the front office, in the stadium and at appointed marketing events. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment.

  • Must be able to work in all types of outdoor weather conditions and within a stadium environment.

  • Must have ability to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed.

Physical Demands

his is a largely sedentary role; specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision as well as use of hands to feel or control objects.

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.

  • Nature of position requires physical mobility and the ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.


Some travel may- be expected in this role.
