The Golden State Warriors are looking for an Accountant to play an integral role on the finance and business operations team. In this position, you will work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with incredible attention to detail, financial savvy, and an aptitude for technology. You will help various aspects of the monthly close process and general ledger including financial statements, audits, and close packages. This position reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager.

This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, CA.

Willingness and ability to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination will be required. All religious, medical, or other legally recognized exemptions regarding vaccination status will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, upload and post journal entries with large focus on prepaid expenses, payroll, cash, and intangibles

  • Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers

  • Lead all aspects of prepaid amortization, including running system-generated entries in NetSuite and reconciling prepaid expense accounts

  • Prepare and post payroll journal entries based on reports from payroll processor (UKG) for all entities and employees

  • Prepare and file local compliance reporting as needed

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure company assets and liabilities are properly accounted for

  • Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing pieces of close package

  • Assist the Accounting Manager in preparation of audit requests as needed

  • Assist general ledger team on any ad-hoc requests, including accounts such as fixed assets, various operating expense accounts, lease expense, and lease revenues

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 3 years in an accounting related role

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate knowledge of Excel (pivots, lookups, etc.); experience with ERP accounting software (NetSuite) accounts payable systems (Coupa)

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles/practices, internal controls, and variance analysis

  • Experience with general ledger, journal entry preparation, monthly/annual close processes

  • Amortization module experience and associated system-generated journals

  • General understanding of payroll accounting processes

  • Ability to prepare, organize and analyze complex and confidential financial information in a professional manner

  • Flexibility with changing priorities; ability to organize, prioritize and handle workload

  • Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to build positive working relationships with team members

  • Curiosity, tenacity and attention to detail and process
