To manage and lead the match day / event safety operation at Craven Cottage.

To manage and prepare for events at Motspur Park or other club sites where appropriate, and which need to be managed by the Safety Team.

To provide advice and support to the Health and Safety Manager responsible for day to day health and safety provision and management within the club. Ensure that FFC provide a safe environment for all who work, visit, or attend Club sites.

To provide advice and support to the Staffing Manager responsible for stewards for Match Day and events at the Club's sites.

  • To ensure, as far as reasonably possible, the safety of everyone attending events at the Football Club Stadium, in accordance with the Safety Certificate terms and conditions and the Club’s Policy Statement of Spectator Safety. The post holder shall have no other duties on a match day, other than those involved in the execution of the role of Safety Officer.

  • To assist the Staffing Manager with the processes of recruitment, training, development and motivation of staff working within the match day safety team, whilst ensuring compliance with club policies on Spectator Safety and Health and Safety.

  • To undertakes performance reviews and analyse development needs to ensure staff are appropriately trained in accordance with the statutory requirement.

  • To develop and promulgate Safety Policies for the Club for match days and events and to assist the Health & Safety Manager with day to day business as necessary.

  • To ensure that the Club / Company complies with all aspects of Match Day and Event safety. Also to ensure that legislation applicable to Company Health and Safety is complied with.

  • To ensure that the Club / Company complies with all the requirements of the Safety Certificate and relevant Safety at Sports Ground Legislation on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer. Act as representative of the Club in regular consultation with members of Hammersmith & Fulham police, London Fire Service, London Ambulance Service, The Football Licensing Authority and LBHF Council on matters associated with the safety and security of spectators. Attend Safety Advisory Group meetings.

  • Ensure that there is sufficient trained staff available to cover all essential safety posts. Liaise with the Police Match Commander and the LBHF Health and Licensing Officer on all matters of Safety and Public Order. To ensure good working practice in the Control Room.

  • To ensure that the Club / Company complies where appropriate with all the requirements of the Green and Purple guides.

  • Manage confrontation and service excellence activities and staff competence in these areas, so as to optimise and sustain performance and provide good customer match / event day experience. Act as Club Liaison Officer with the Emergency Services.

  • Set team priorities and objectives. Ensure that all systems are accurate and correct. Demonstrate that control procedures are in place.

  • Full utilisation of all technology available. Develop and investigate new systems used within the market sector.

  • To ensure that a distinct health and safety culture is continually developed within the safety operation.

  • To regularly hold meetings with key staff for de-brief and forward planning of events.

  • To manage on a match by match basis the financial aspects of all operations within the match day safety operation. Construct budgets, forecasting and monitor performance.

  • To understand Safeguarding requirements and work with the Club’s CSO and VASO on all related areas.

  • Be the Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) holding a valid personal licence and will be named on the premises license.
