About The Role

Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • Monitor routine security activities across the business and provide support to the (ad-hoc/ physical security) security manager and Head of Security (HoS) as directed.

  • This role will focus on security provision and development of good security practice at F1 office locations in the UK.

  • Coordinate with the Travel Department to monitor F1 personnel’s ad-hoc travel requirements.

  • Provide country security assessments and recommendations for travel.

  • Coordinate with F1 Internal Travel to ensure relevant security arrangements are in place for travel to high-risk locations.

  • Support the Coordinator (Mass Events) with the delivery and maintenance of the Company Crisis and Incident Management Plan.

  • Support the HoS in developing and maintaining an active global network of trusted contacts in the various countries F1 operate in, actively participating in intelligence and security information exchange and threat sharing protocols on a formal and informal basis.

  • Monitor and provide intelligence provision and analysis for Ad-Hoc travel locations throughout the season.

  • Monitor and engage with security intelligence providers to create tripwire coverage on FOM assets and interests.

  • Create F1 briefing documents on major threats to personnel and assets with risk assessment.

  • Collaborate with Security Coordinator (Mass Events) on intelligence provision for Ad-Hoc travel and future race locations.

  • Assist with work on the security mass event team when required.


  • Engage with third party stakeholders including security industry partners to implement best practice policy across F1 physical locations.

  • Operationally support the maintenance of service offerings including Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for each F1 Security Service Provider. Ensuring SLA’s and MOUs for each service are monitored, measured and met.

  • Manage and audit FOM’s relationship with our security providers.

  • Ensure we are getting the most value from our relationships with business partners including driving efficiencies where possible.

  • Work closely with the Health & Safety team on shared issues.


  • Support the implementation of flexible, appropriate and proportionate security solutions and policies.

  • Support the delivery of a result’s orientated security management reporting structure that will achieve tangible improvements in governance, security, prevention, protection and investigation.

  • Develop F1 standards around a security working culture then communicate and build on this across the business.

  • Support the crime reporting structure involving investigating, evaluating and reporting on all suspected security breaches and recommend corrective actions.

  • Investigate allegations/suspicions of insider crime and assist in the development of the Insider Threat policy.

  • Support the security function in maintaining FOM’s status as a Known Consignor in accordance with the UK National Aviation Security Programme.

  • Provide audit and assurance into the background checks conducted for KC trained staff.

  • Audit the Known Consignor roles and processes of various partners across the company.

  • Support the development and roll out of security awareness training for F1 employees.

  • Support the HoS in dealing with major security incidents.

  • Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform of necessary improvements and adjustments to the security function.

  • Help govern adoption of and adherence to security processes.


  • Work effectively within the security team and with close partners.

  • Where appropriate manage external contractors located in the UK and overseas locations, with special responsibility for security

  • Actively collaborate with other departments and build effective relations to support the F1 security function.

About You

  • A background within further education and qualifications within the security field.

  • Worked with data streams and have scaled data and enterprise services to a large consumer audience

  • Previous experience with physical security, security technologies, and tools associated with crisis and incident response capabilities.

  • Experience with geopolitical risk assessment.

  • Experience in Crisis and Incident Management, social media and Data Security matters, Intrusion Detection, Crime Prevention and Civil and Criminal investigations.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to deliver

  • Excellent communicator, enabler, and negotiator (spoken and written).

  • Good leadership and time management skills

  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude

  • Excellent attention to detail and driven by clear/ concise communication

  • Comfortable being the interface between different departments and able to work across all levels of a business

  • Able to describe security concepts to non-security people.
