Organization Overview:

The Florida Panthers are a community focused organization led by an authentic management team that served our country and now serves the South Florida community. The organization is on the rise and is experiencing success both on and off the ice. Led by General Manager Bill Zito, the Panthers had their best season in franchise history. Off the ice, the business team is seeing growth across all key metrics including ratings, social engagement and a busy Fall 2022 concert schedule. Meanwhile the organization is expanding outside of FLA Live Arena and are renovating the FTL War Memorial in Downtown Fort Lauderdale to build a new practice facility and concert venue.

Job Summary:

The role of the AV Technician is to set up and breakdown audio visual equipment for hockey games, functions in conference spaces and events, as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set up projectors/screens, mixer, microphones, and speakers for functions

  • Build cameras for hockey

  • Tend to TVs in the building

  • Make/run cables such as SDI, coax, ethernet, and XLR

  • Build LED walls

  • Assist with watch party setups

  • Assist IT helpdesk

  • Additional projects tasks and events assigned


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.

  • 2 years of AV installation or production experience preferred but not required.

  • Speaks clearly, thoroughly clarifies any discrepancies

  • Able to read and interpret written information such as event documents, equipment manuals and installation manuals

  • Able to work independently

  • Works with urgency

  • Responds to requests for service and assistance with a positive attitude

  • Observes safety and security procedures

  • Reports any potentially unsafe conditions

  • Responds to requests for service and assistance for guests that visit the arena

  • Treats patrons in a kind and courteous manner

  • Have a basic working knowledge of signal flow to troubleshoot gear

  • Reacts well under pressure

  • Approaches others in a tactful manner

  • Adapts to changes in the work environment

  • Superb Time Management skills

  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction

  • Be customer-service oriented, always have a fan-friendly attitude and a professional appearance

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is an exempt position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
