As the organiser of some of the biggest and most iconic sport events in the world we lead the way in the sport and event industry.We are now looking for a Spanish Translator, 12-Month contract that is part of FIFA and supports us on our mission.

These are your key tasks:

  • Handling all assigned requests (e.g. translation, proofreading, transcription, subtitling) and delivering by the set deadline

  • Clarifying all content-related and linguistic questions with the proofreader (if assigned) or the requester and, if relevant, keeping the Project Management & Technology Unit and Group Leader informed

  • Conducting terminology work

  • Answering linguistic questions from FIFA team members

  • Reporting any issues to the Group Leader, in particular regarding meeting deadlines, in a timely manner

  • Responding to the requests from the Group Leader, the Project Management & Technology Unit and the Head of the Department

  • Following the processes established by the Project Management & Technology Unit

  • Acting as project leader for internal projects

  • Advising the assigned department/division

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

  • Solid translation/linguistic background

  • Interest in football

  • Spanish mother tongue

  • Deep knowledge of English

  • Deep knowledge of at least one of the following FIFA official languages (French, German, Arabic)

  • Up to date with the newest translation technologies available on the market

  • Familiar with the use of CAT-tools

  • Experience as a full-time translator and/or proofreader

  • Good knowledge of translation project management an asset

  • Experience of video subtitling an asset

  • Excellent organisation skills, efficiency
