About the opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join us at Everton Free School & Football College.
As a Teaching Assistant you will support the work of the classroom teacher, making a strong contribution to students’ learning and achievement. You will provide a cover service to absent teachers, supervise classes/groups of students and ensuring that they carry out the agreed learning activities and tasks set by the teacher with designated responsibility.
Other key responsibilities will include:
Assisting in providing support for individual and groups of students inside and outside the classroom
Assisting in the planning of lessons with the teacher/ subject lead and assist the teacher in the full classroom planning cycle and with the management and preparation of resources.
Assisting class teachers with maintaining student’s records
Assisting in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the SENCO and class teachers
Support and nurture the students in your care by ensuring a secure, stimulating learning environment for them
Using your own skills to offer students new learning opportunities
To monitor potential safeguarding risks and work with the School Designated Safeguarding Officer, and the Head of Safeguarding for Everton Football Club to promote safer working practice throughout the School.
Understand the School Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines. Use this understanding to ensure safer recruitment, safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.
To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all students and young people attending or associate with the School
Who we are looking for: We are looking for a dynamic individual who has experience of working effectively with young people, families and carers.
It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of successfully managing challenging behaviour and helping young people to grow in confidence with a positive vision for the future.
Other Key Skills and Knowledge will include:
Level 3 Higher Level Teaching Assistant Qualification
Outstanding organisation, interpersonal and communication skills (including written, oral and presentation skills).
The ability to translate vision into practice.
The ability to build a collaborative and creative learning culture
This role is subject to both evidence and verification of relevant qualifications which will be discussed with you if your application is successful.
As a requirement of our safer recruitment practices this role will require an Enhanced DBS check or evidence of subscription the DBS Update Service.
