Work hand in hand with our Director of Inside Sales to hire, train, and build a best-in-class entry level sales program. Responsibilities will include recruiting, training, campaign management, and day to day management of the Inside Sales team that serves both the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the Ilitch Sports and Entertainment Inside Sales team in meeting identified ticket sales goals.

  • Manage the Inside Sales Team, including performance management, training, coaching, development, and daily operations

  • Provide daily one-on-one coaching and real-time feedback on the sales floor

  • Lead efforts in the recruitment of future Inside Sales Classes

  • Take an active role in attending and assisting with in-person sales appointments

  • Implement the staff work schedule for both normal business hours and additional staff duties (i.e. gameday, information booths, etc.)

  • Network and implement sales promotion programs during Detroit Tigers and Red Wings events

  • Manage daily outbound sales activity of the Inside Sales Team

  • Assist in developing and running organized and effective sales activities to motivate and engage staff

  • Develop and execute customer sales training and reinforce sales training principles. Attend and assist sales representatives with in and out of office sales meetings.

  • Assist in the annual strategy planning for Ticket Sales and Services. Develop and execute tactics to realize strategy goals.

  • Develop and submit periodic reports on sales activities, new strategies, trend analysis or other adhoc reports as needed.

  • Participate in budget discussion and monitor applicable portions of the budget. Provide documentation for any variances.

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including weekdays, weekends and holidays.

  • Assist with the planning and execution of campaign management and sales events

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related discipline. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a sales role, preferably with a professional sports team, experience with Ticketmaster and Archtics systems.

  • Minimum of two (2) years leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and implement results-oriented sales strategies and cultivate relationships with internal and external contacts.

  • Previous use and knowledge of classic Ticketmaster and Archtics is preferred

  • Evidence of attention to detail, accuracy and a high level of conscientiousness to work.

  • Evidence of highly developed organization and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple, complex priorities.

  • Evidence of excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability and enthusiasm to communicate to and motivate a wide variety of audiences.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability and flexibility to work effectively individually and in a fast-paced team environment with non-traditional and extended work schedules that include evenings, holidays and weekends.

  • Evidence of knowledge and passion for the sports industry.
