Excellent opportunity for a highly versatile and well-rounded graphic design and production professional to join the Corporate Communications Department at Ilitch Holdings. With the organization’s diverse set of companies in the food, sports, entertainment and development industries, this position will entail an exciting and broad range of communications, marketing and production responsibilities. Including, but not limited to: internal and external communications, corporate marketing, executive event planning, production and community relations. This role will also have a unique opportunity to work with The District Detroit and Olympia Development marketing and communications team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conceptualize and design visuals based on creative brief and client requirements. Be prepared to layout and prepare materials for digital or printed specifications.

  2. Understand and implement various brand identities to compile targeted presentations, digital ads, infographics, etc.

  3. Assist and conceptualize brand identities that include color palettes, fonts, logo development, etc.

  4. Prepare all required event materials, including schematics, layouts, branding, signage, collateral, presentations, etc.

  5. Collaborate and execute executive presentations within Microsoft PowerPoint as well as Keynote. Presentations should be dynamic, uniquely branded and thoughtfully crafted based on approved theme and messaging.

  6. Collaborate with the corporate communications team in helping to provide creative direction and executed designs for company news stories and digital content.

  7. Coordinate with outside agencies, art services, editorial and digital teams, printers and leaders as necessary.

  8. Keep an organized schedule to properly and efficiently complete various tasks, account for proofing/reviewing of materials and successfully make deadlines.

  9. Discussion and problem solving regarding department practices and procedures with Director.

  10. Must be able to follow job from beginning (scanning, design, layout and preparing job for print) to end (final pre-press approval).

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or Marketing.

  2. 4 - 6 years related experience and/or training.

    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

  3. Possess the highest integrity and ethical standards.

  4. Ability to lead projects to ensure creative requests deadlines are met.

  5. Proficiency in taking direction and executing changes when necessary.

  6. Organizational ability to track files and progress associated with projects and maintain department’s digital archive.

  7. Ability to multi-task and be flexible to shift between projects as new priorities emerge, and assist graphic designers with project overflow.

  8. Discussion and problem-solving skills regarding department practices and procedures.

  9. Ability to work on collaborative projects and independently.

  10. Understanding of marketing, production, presentation design, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements and multimedia design.

  11. Must have thorough knowledge of graphics related Macintosh software including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. HTML, Dreamweaver JavaScript and Flash a plus.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of sports and entertainment industry.

  2. Knowledge of real estate and development industry.

Working Conditions:

  1. Frequent visual/auditory attention.

  2. Expose to moderate noise level.

  3. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
