The Detroit Pistons Basketball Company (DPBC) is seeking a Coordinator, Partnership Sales & Service – Motor City Cruise (G League). We are looking for a creative team member with a positive upbeat and empathetic attitude that can connect with a diverse population. This role will be responsible for crafting and improving revenue streams related to Corporate Partnerships programs for the Motor City Cruise. The Coordinator will assist with proposal creation, category research, sponsorship sales, and partner activation for the debut of the NBA G League affiliate in Detroit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and sell integrated partnerships through a comprehensive array of Motor City Cruise assets, including media, signage, in-arena and in-market promotions, intellectual property rights, community relations platforms and hospitality

  • Research, prospect and establish leads for corporate relationships through industry networking, use of third-party lead services, trade publications, and cold calls

  • Activate, renew, and upsell partnership accounts, as appropriate, once sold.

  • Exercise creative skills based in marketing analysis.

  • Attend weekly sponsorship meetings

  • Liaise with Pistons Corporate Partnership team to introduce and upsell existing Pistons partners to Motor City Cruise

  • Coordinate client meetings, including in-arena presentations and in-arena tours

  • Handle VIP credentialing for special client facing events

  • Lead food & beverage ordering for client facing meetings and events, including suite food orders on event/game nights

  • Coordinating ticketing, receptions, club passes, problem solving with Box Office holds, etc.

  • Participate in special projects and perform duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Business or Sports Management degree preferred

  • Consistent record of sales, as well as balancing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously

  • Professional sports Gaming/ESports knowledge strongly preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills

  • Availability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • Self-motivated teammate with a proven track record to work with bold individual and team sales goals

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with corporate clients and co-workers

  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, with Adobe skills preferable

Travel Requirements

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to and from client sales meetings

  • The Coordinator primarily works in an office environment, however, is expected to attend games that may take place on weekends and holidays

  • May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights

Physical Demands

  • This position requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
