POSITION SUMMARY:

The manager of talent acquisition will be responsible for executing on talent identification, sourcing and movement into the organization. This connection-focused problem solver will help the Lions consistently hiring the best and brightest with a lens of diversity and inclusion on every aspect of our sourcing, evaluating and hiring. This person will help implement talent management processes and programs, advise on how the Lions best increase talent mobility, and leverage proactive talent acquisition and workforce planning. This talent advisor is as competitive as our athletes are—with an eye on finding the best and brightest to fuel the organization. The work includes, but is not limited to, development planning, responsibility for the full recruitment lifecycle and related HRIS tasks and administration.

This position requires an excellent service-centered disposition and may occasionally provide support to employees on administrative HR matters. This talent partner uses excellent time management to ensure we’re focused on the right talent at the right time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Partner with leaders across the organization to help identify the right talent pools for existing and future roles, working to nurture a consistent talent community that puts us in the best position to win.

  • Identify and source appropriate talent for current open roles within the organization

  • Oversee various processes ensuring that the right candidate is identified and that the process has been thoughtful and equitable.

  • Own and optimize our applicant tracking system (Greenhouse) and use this system and others to ensure an equitable and enjoyable hiring experience for hiring manager and candidates alike.

  • Oversee job posting optimization, recruiting marketing channel development, job board procurement, digital and non-digital employment marketing, comprehensive recruitment campaign planning, talent planning, etc. to build social media presence that drives a diverse array of talent to engage with us.

  • Counsel both candidate and hiring manager on appropriate total compensation packages on a case by case basis, with internal equity top of mind.

  • Create engaging job postings (internal and external) to create high visibility with a diverse, appropriate audience via partnership with our creative team.

  • Develop college recruiting programs that help us focus first and foremost on our Detroit talent community with other focuses expanding when those communities aren’t able to provide the talent.

  • Provide guidance as we develop our entry-level talent programs including college interns and other entry-level talent segments

  • Attend and organize recruiting events with return on investment (both money and time) top of mind.

  • Work in strong collaboration with leaders and internal culture committees to evolve the onboarding process for new hires ensuring all have the context needed to hit the ground running.

  • Ensure consistency with job descriptions as we look to provide the right level of detail to speak to the whole scope of a role while also minding our obligations to compliance.

  • Cultivate strategic relationships with third party recruitment agencies and staffing firms to help fill gaps on specific talent as needed.

  • Oversee internal transfer/promotion process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, offer letters, to enable upward mobility within the company

  • Collaborate closely with the people team to ensure the whole employee experience is connected, thoughtful and intentional. We are building the best place to work in professional sports and that requires consistency in employee experience.

  • Help with onboarding of new hires.

  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT’S REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of experience in a talent management or related role in a corporate environment (prior recruiting experience is a must) with a track record that includes a variety of roles and placements

  • Knowledge of HR operations and administration

  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws

  • Bachelor’s degree. A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline, that’s a plus.

  • Ability to cultivate credible relationships with all levels in the organization

  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction from manager

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills with ability to effectively communicate with leadership across the organization; is able to tell a story with data

  • Ability to maintain confidential information is a must

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong aptitude for learning agility and working in ambiguous situations; flexibility to react and adjust to changing requirements

  • Strong results orientation - track record of meeting deadlines and delivering on goals

  • Will adjust schedule as needed to meet work goals and time constraints

  • May require work out of both the Ford Field Management Office and the Allen Park Training Facility

WHAT’S PREFERRED:

Previous experience with HRIS systems, including Ceridian DayForce HCM and Greenhouse is a plus!
