D.C. United are looking for a Video Editor to support all club content and communication and marketing efforts for the 2022 Major League Soccer season. The position will live within the Communications and Content department, and will be responsible for helping the group to push the creative boundaries of sports video content. The position will stay at the leading edge of social, promotional, and in-venue content execution while adhering to the club’s brand standard. The chosen candidate must be a team player who understands the importance of visual storytelling and adhering to deadlines. Technical skill, flexibility and versatility of work product, and a good attitude and approach to work are musts. This position will report to the club’s Director of Content.

What You Will Do
Edit engaging and entertaining video and motion graphic content for social media, in-venue entertainment, and promotional use for D.C. United and Audi Field
Capture video content to uphold a common production standard of excellence
Develop original pieces of video content
Work matchdays alongside Communications and Content team to support video capture and video editing of matchday clips
Ability to work on multiple video projects at a given time and execute them promptly
Collaborate with peers within the department and outside of the department to create customized content to fulfill organizational goals
Work closely with the graphic design department to support motion graphic and after effect projects
Apply intensive attention to detail to keep club assets organized and develop and maintain efficiency of team collaborative projects
Your Background, Skills and Qualifications
3-5 years or professional video editing experience in a related field, sport and soccer not required, but preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast/Journalism, Communications, Film, or a relevant field
A passion for engaging audiences, working with others, storytelling, thinking outside the box, and pushing the creative boundaries of sports video content
Excellent communication skills with peers and experience working with athletes in a professional setting
Prior experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipment
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud programs, specifically, Premiere Pro, Pr, Ae, PS, and Media Encoder
Proficient in manually color-grading video
Ability to travel for certain away matches
Experience in sports, and soccer is a plus
Competencies (KSAs)
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is necessary. Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign a must, After Effects, Camera Raw preferred
Must be able to edit and color correct video content
Must possess an excellent content sense
Must be able remain comfortable yet energetic in the creative process
Must demonstrate a high level of detail-orientation, especially under deadline pressure
Must display organization and communicative skills
Must be flexible in working hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
Must possess a strong ability to manage one’s own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when privy to sensitive information
Must be flexible & reliable team player, both within own department and within company as a whole.
