The Dallas Mavericks Vice President of Partnership Activation must be an expert at delivering client service and satisfaction. This role highly focuses on the ability to retain & inspire our existing corporate partners. In addition to client servicing, a successful candidate develops and implements strategies that grow key business initiatives and achieve KPI’s for our partners. This role is highly collaborative across the organization and must be an expert at lateral management between different departments (e.g., marketing, creative, team operations).
Manage and lead entire Activation team including director, managers coordinators, media department and interns (approximately 10 people). Hire for positions, as needed.
Develop and maintain a strong Activation team and staff pipeline to increase overall skill levels and capabilities while exceeding expectations.
Lead Activation team across all areas of partnership landscape to ensure seamless development, integration, and implementation of sponsors for short-term tactical efforts and long-term campaigns.
Develop and implement activation plans consistent with partner business objectives.
Work Closely with the VP of Partnership Service and Retention during the renewal process and identify opportunities to generate incremental revenue with current clients.
Manage internal assets and inventory to maximize client objectives and team revenue opportunities.
Assist sales team with renewals, including planning, providing back-up data/proof of performance, case studies and additional sales support, as needed.
Implement and manage all activities to deliver a culture of measurable learning via analytics, planning, tracking and reporting.
Ensure budgets, goals, and marketing commitments developed for each client are being met.
Partner and liaise with appropriate internal resources to develop customized and impactful programs and proposals that meet the goals and objectives of our partners.
Continuously leverage consumer insights, competitor activity, and marketplace trends to deliver relevant, engaging, and successful programs.
Assist internal teams with inventory/asset development, including marketing, digital, community relations, events, ticket sales, basketball operations, Mavs Academy, Mavs Gaming and Texas Legends.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
7+ years of relevant partnership & account management experience with at least 3 years at a leadership level
Must be able to identify problems, their sources, and potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
Proven track record of client success, renewal, and upsell across multiple accounts.
Must have a strong emotional intelligence and perception.

Ability to communicate and interface well at all levels of the organization.
A strong management orientation with an understanding of how to coach, mentor, and develop people.
