Job Description: Entry-level position supporting 81Eighty apparel design team with all aspects of the development process from concept to creation including but not limited to the following responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Support seasonal development calendar in partnership with the Senior Technical Designer

• Analyze technical fit and quality of garments by ensuring that products are developed in a manner consistent with established standards

• Assist with fit sessions by preparing samples and recording sample feedback

• Coordinate fit sessions and abide by a strict turn times

• Effectively communicate sample revisions with overseas factories and update tech packs in PLM system

• Assist with fit validation activities such as wear testing, focus groups and surveys

• Collaborate with Associate Designer to manage and check incoming samples

• Prepare for client meetings by pulling sample collections and setting up showrooms

• Managing a current database of fit photos and construction pages

• Maintaining and Rotating work room by accurately labeling and disposing of out date samples

Requirements:

• Degree in Fashion Design or related field

• A deep understanding of garment construction and patternmaking

• This candidate must have a strong foundational understanding of product development for both men’s and women’s apparel

• Must have 2 years of knowledge with different types of fabrics including knits and woven materials

• Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office

• Exceptional eye to identify fit issues and take thorough notes in fittings

• Must be a good teammate and work well with others

• Must be proactive and possess the ability to plan ahead, work at a fast-pace, be detail-oriented & organized
