Columbus Crew is searching for an energetic and passionate individual for an Assistant Video Coach Analyst full time role. This individual will help facilitate and manage all performance and technical related video production for First Team training and games but also be responsible for video components across the entire player pathway (first team, second team and academy). Within this role, the individual should be prepared to create and execute video product at a professional level, work with athlete database technology and platforms, create productive relationships with colleagues and athletes, and have a deep passion for the game.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and be held accountable for video recording of all First Team training sessions and games.

  • Coordinate the preparation, production, and sharing all First Team training sessions and games.

  • Assist in the creation of all pre-game and post-game presentations and visual aids for the team preparation.

  • Provide video analysis reports of opponent individual players (Assist the Technical Staff in scouting needs of opponents).

  • Organize and help facilitate individual training and game clips for all players at the Club.

  • Manage Goalkeeper training video

  • Manage and organize the team platform (Hudl) for uploading and sharing videos and clips.

  • Key liaison with administration to all video production vendors and providers.

  • Work closely with IT department to ensure all video production requirements are aligned within overall plan and systems.

  • Manage the BePro platform and ensure continuity between teams.

  • Use BePro to monitor KPI’s regarding team performance.

  • Produce individual video assessments when required for all levels of the club.

  • Other duties as directed by the First Team Video Analyst and Soccer Leadership

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited university (preferred)

    • Degree in Sports Management/Business, Coaching Education, Video Analysis preferred

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, particularly tasks that are time sensitive.

  • Excellent time management skills, dependability, professionalism, and attention to details.

  • Strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in professional sports.

  • Must be able to move/lift up to 30lbs.

  • Expertise in the professional soccer landscape.

  • Understanding of technical formations, lineups, and strategy.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others;

    • Candidates who are bilingual will take priority

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Word, Excel.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with video analysis platforms such as SportsCode, Hudl, Spiideo, Tactic Pro, CoachPaint etc.

  • Ability to work and manage a video camera / camera systems.

  • Ability to fly and use a drone.

  • Any soccer specific coaching licenses would be viewed as an asset.

  • There will be the requirement to work nights, weekends and holidays and travel will be consistent throughout the role.
