PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the direction of the Live Experience team, you will gain hands-on experience creating original, clear, accurate, and brand-relevant copy that achieves business and creative objectives across all mediums while creating a compelling & positive experience for our fans and teammates.

The expectation of this internship is 40 hours/week beginning in January 2023 through the end of baseball season.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

During the internship, you will gain experience with the following:

Live Experience

  • Copywrite, edit, and proofread all aspects of gameday creative output

  • Produce content for in-park activations and in-game entertainment

  • Manage assigned projects full cycle ensuring consistency of voice and information accuracy

  • Partner with internal departments to ensure brand presence and call to action

  • Develop creative ideas and concepts in partnership with the Creative Production team

  • Write VO scripts for gameday videos

  • Create in-game scripts for hosts, PA and guests

  • Write and/or proofread all scoreboard graphics

  • Assist with the gameday rundown creation process

  • Other duties as assigned

Marketing

  • Write and/or proofread all marketing emails

  • Write VO end tags for brand radio commercials

  • Proofread printed materials include yearbook, pocket schedule, media guide, signage, and flyers

  • Proofread and edit all website and Ballpark app content

  • Update, maintain, and manage organizational lexicon

  • Incorporate MLB lexicon into organizational lexicon and monitor best practices of League teams

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in design for social media

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

  • Bachelor’s degree or in-progress of achieving degree in journalism, English, communications, advertising or other related field or equivalent relevant work experience preferred

  • Excellent editorial skills in areas of accuracy, voice, readability, and grammar

  • Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, self-starter and ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment

  • Team player who enjoys working in a collaborative environment

  • Knowledge of popular culture and trends

  • Work gamedays as required

  • Ability to walk, sit or stand for an entire shift.

  • Ability to work extended days and hours, including holidays and weekends.

  • Ability to move throughout all areas and levels of the Ballpark.

  • Ability to work in a complex and changing environment.

  • Occasional physical activity such as lifting and carrying boxes up to 50 lbs.
