The Chicago Red Stars Manager, Marketing will work within the Marketing team reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing & Communication. This role will focus on building strategic marketing plans and community outreach that drive engagement, awareness, and revenue for the club.
Responsibilities:
Actively participate in asset creation to assist in determining how best to utilize Marketing assets to grow club revenue and overall awareness
Maintain an understanding of organizational sales and marketing activities, as well as the strategic direction of the market and competitors
Oversight of the annual advertising campaign
Development of advertising plans, negotiation of partnerships/buys, advertising creative development, execution, and tracking
Creation and trafficking of all spots, live reads, digital files, and content for TV and radio match broadcasts, as well as all advertising components
Point of contact with outside agencies that assist with club marketing efforts
Oversee the planning, purchasing and distribution of all promotional materials for the club
Manage Supernova mascot program
Manage the Red Stars’ Kids Club program
Have a constant focus on how to drive ticket sales and work closely with the Community and Ticketing departments to leverage community-based activations
Assist with the planning, coordinating and execution of the club’s in-match production for all home games
Manage and coordinate all of the club’s copywriting needs including, but not limited to TV match broadcast, all forms of paid media advertisement and marketing/sales collateral
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
Three to four years promotions and events experience preferably in sports
Ability to deliver P&L budget with analysis
Project management expertise
Strong organizational skills
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, in a non-traditional settings, within a team atmosphere
Ability to work independently and self motivate
Ability to be adaptable and creative when solving problems
Possess excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and written correspondence
Ability to develop outstanding internal and external business relationships
Understands and provides superior customer service
Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and database management
