The Director of Ticketing will be responsible for promoting and selling all ticketing inventory, including season tickets, flex plans, premium seating, and group tickets by leading our team of Account Executives. The Director of Ticketing will report to the Chief Business Officer and be responsible for establishing and implementing a sales plan designed to meet or exceed the annual sales goals set by senior management. In addition, the Director of Ticketing will oversee the Ticket Coordinator and box office operations. Reports to the Chief Business Officer.
Responsibilities:
Create, implement, and execute sales campaigns for products to be sold by the sales team; includes coordination with marketing in the production of sales collateral for campaigns as appropriate
Establish and implement a sales strategy to increase revenue through season memberships, flex packages, premium seating, group sales, and special offers
Lead, motivate, develop, and coach sales staff for future succession and opportunity within the Chicago Red Stars organization
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with all members of the sales staff; establish and communicate clear sales revenue goals and follow up with appropriate feedback and direction for development
Manage and evaluate sales staff performance on an ongoing basis, including annual reviews for all team members
Produce regular sales reports to identify sales trends and forecast event attendance
Create, monitor, and manage budgets for the sales department
Build and implement an onboarding program and plan for new sales staff
Recruit, interview, hire, and maintain the sales staff and interns
Work with all departments to track and fulfill ticketing needs, monitor, and report on the sales process and results to ownership
Make and manage appropriate client and hospitality visits on game and event days
Perform various game-day duties and other related tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of ticket sales experience in the sports industry
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a leadership role, managing staff
Proven ability to create, organize, and manage sales leads from start to finish
Excellent communication and organization skills, both oral and written
Strong teaching, motivating, development, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multi-task
Demonstrate a consistent, successful track record in hitting ticket sales goals
Proficient in Microsoft 365
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet company vehicle driving standards
