Position Overview:

The Senior Coordinator, Academy Football Operations will directly manage & execute all aspects of Academy Team Operations & Administration for all academy teams (U13, U14, U15 & U17). Aspects include but are not limited to budgeting, player registration & services, scheduling for training, games, and club events as well as the ordering & management of equipment. The Senior Coordinator, Academy Football Operations will manage, coordinate, and execute all aspects of home and away games in accordance with the high standards of the Chicago Fire Football Club.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build & manage the annual Academy budget in collaboration with the Academy Technical Director

  • Budget, coordinate & facilitate all aspects of academy away trips which include devising itineraries, hotel, bus/vans & flight reservations as well as nutrition for players & staff

  • Collaborate with Academy travel agents for bookings hotels, busses, vans & flights

  • Coordinate & facilitate all aspects of academy home games with high standards which include coordinating schedules with our players & opponents, roster submittal to the league, field setup, video recording & uploading to MOD11, VEO & HUDL

  • Liaise with the Sporting Operations Department the field schedules for Academy training and games to assure all necessary reservations are booked in a timely matter

  • Manage players registrations for the Club & MLS NEXT league to adhere to all rules & regulations

  • Manage HUDL, VEO, GotSport and MOD11 databases for all video and player registrations

  • Execute the players' ITCs as needed

  • Manage weekly/daily communication with players, parents & Academy staff regarding training & travel schedules & important information as needed

  • Manage the execution of the Academy YSC order from Adidas which includes inventorying, printing, & distribution of gear to players & staff

  • Collaborate with the Federations for player call-ups

  • Assist in the planning and operational execution of Academy events (i.e., ID Events, Family Orientation, Senior Night, College Signing Day)

  • Collaborate with the MARCOM department for all social media outlet needs


  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university, preferred

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a professional football club, required. Previous MLS/USSDA/USYSA Club experience an advantage

  • The ability to work independently and in a team/collaborative work environment is required along with strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and planning skills

  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required. Will be required to travel with the Academy Teams

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

  • Proficient using PC and Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Must be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19

Progressions: The above responsibilities are transferable to the 2nd team when required.
