The Corporate Partnerships Business Development position will be responsible for generating partnership revenue for both the Chicago Blackhawks, United Center and Fifth Third Ice Arena. The main focus will be on the prospecting and development of partnerships within the main business categories for both the Blackhawks, United Center and Fifth Third Ice Arena. This position requires a highly energetic and self-motivated individual. The role will have support throughout the department and organization to focus strictly on generating new business as other team members will conduct research, data analysis, proposal creation, account servicing, and hospitality event management on their behalf.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Sale of partnership assets including tv-visible signage, in-arena signage and videoboard placements, social and digital content, mobile integrations and impressions, one-of-a-kind experiences, tickets, etc.

  • Prospects local, national, and international companies from leads provided through internal processes.

  • Communicates with new prospects to book meetings to conduct a marketing needs analysis.

  • Maintains diligent and real-time Salesforce CRM entry.

  • Collaborates with peers to obtain necessary deliverables for presentations and contracts.

  • Develops relationships through networking, events, social functions, and game attendance.

  • Negotiates final outcome of partnership business terms.

  • Continuously searches for new partner ideas, signage opportunities, in-arena/retail promotions that will benefit the Blackhawks, United Center and Fifth Third Ice Arena and maximize partnership revenue.

  • Game day responsibilities include: entertaining potential partners in the Blackhawk marketing suite, assisting other department functions as needed in execution and monitoring of partner activations.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Communications, or Sports Marketing

  • Partnership or advertising selling experience with a professional sports team, digital platform, TV/radio station or similar industry.

  • Enthusiastic collaborator and belief that varying perspectives and contributors create an improved outcome.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively with others at all management levels.

  • Superior organization and time management skills.

  • Interpretation of data and articulation of its meaning and impact.

  • Creativity in developing new sponsorship concepts and inventory.

  • Ability to solve problems independently with customized solutions.

  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, CRM (Salesforce) and the internet.

  • Experience with SponsorUnited and SportsDigita preferred.

  • Passion for sports and hockey.

  • Possess professional contacts in the Chicagoland and surrounding areas.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as event schedule commands.
