THE POSITION

The CSEC Kitchen team is currently seeking active interest for a Junior Sous Chefs to join the team. As the Junior Sous Chef you will be responsible for delivering an exciting, unsurpassed fan experience in a food quality conscious and service-focused environment. The ideal candidate will possess entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to succeed.

KEY ACCOUNTABILTIES

  • Deliver exceptional Fan service;

  • Communicate with Management to include all details pertaining to specific events, ongoing changes to general routine and/or procedures;

  • Assist with training and development of new and existing staff;

  • Exhibit a ‘hands on’ approach to the supervision of their area;

  • Communicate and enforce all company policies;

  • Develop with the culinary team new menu designs, costing, budgets and forecasting to ensure targets are met or exceeded;

  • Provide a safe working environment for employees through regular maintenance of the assigned areas;

  • Develop new and innovative menus;

  • Provide accurate recording of all food inventories and maintain established food cost;

  • Provide accurate information for interdepartmental transfers of food and labour costs;

  • Conduct daily tours of production area and ensure that correct storing procedures are met;

  • Responsible for the Main Kitchen Operations in the absence of the Banquet Chef;

  • Follow all safety standards and participate in the safety program;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal candidate will have the following background:

  • Certification (Red Seal or international equivalent);

  • 1-3 years restaurant experience post certification;

  • 1-3 years banquet experience post certification;

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and meet established goals and objectives;

  • Aspirations to become an Executive Chef!

Please note, these positions are based on the event schedule in a fast paced environment, with emphasis on evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Shift lengths vary, and require flexible working times.
