The Position

The Matrix Operator is responsible for displaying graphics on the digital signage within the Saddledome and McMahon Stadium. The position includes, but is not limited to, logging sponsor time, programing LED content and general operation of digital signs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review the sponsor log prior to each game;

  • Ensure the correct sponsors are being played and displayed on the Jumbotron according to the sponsor log;

  • Log sponsorship time;

  • Serve as an operator for control room equipment, particularly Daktronics Show Control, and Click Effects Blaze (ChyronHego);

  • Program and operate LED boards during all Flames, Wranglers, Hitmen, Roughnecks, Stampeders games, concerts, and special events;

  • Set up basic computer hardware;

  • Plug and unplug computer peripherals as required;

  • Actively participate in safety programs and follow polices;

  • Monitor all Scotiabank Saddledome and McMahon Stadium LED systems are in working status and remedy any issues, while also notifying immediate supervisor;

  • Assist in the constant development and advancement of CSEC game presentations;

  • All other duties as assigned.

The Individual

  • Broadcast diploma is preferred or equivalent in Sports Marketing, Information Technology (IT), Graphic Design (New Media Production & Design);

  • Basic computer operation including; Windows and Microsoft Office Software

  • Passion for sports and live productions.

  • Passion for Broadcast & Production.

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal;

  • Schedule flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts.

  • Ability to work under pressure of live entertainment.
