• Perform as a mascot at all Buffalo Sabres home games (pre-season, regular season, plus playoffs);

  • Spontaneous crowd interaction during games and at events;

  • Perform as mascot at all Sabres season ticket holder, sponsor, and community events/programs, as well as other "sponsor appearances" and "community events" as deemed important to the organization;

  • Work with the Game Presentation Director for all in-game performances;

  • Work with the VP of Community Relations for all community appearances and programs;

  • Responsible for maintaining costume, wardrobe, props, etc.;

  • Coordinate mascot appearance schedule;

  • Serve in a support role for the Buffalo Sabres Game Presentation team efforts including but not limited to: creative asset management, special events, fan engagement programs and game night activation execution


  • College diploma;

  • Minimum of one (1) or more years of experience as a mascot at the collegiate, minor, or professional league level;

  • Minimum of one (1) or more years of experience working in Community Relations at the collegiate, minor or professional league level;

  • Outgoing personality;

  • Ability to ice skate;

  • Ability to dance (professional dance training a plus);

  • Good with spontaneous crowd-interaction;

  • Good interpersonal skills (especially with children);

  • Strong non-verbal communication skills;

  • Organizational skills;

  • Sales/marketing/customer service experience or background a plus;

  • Must be reliable and punctual;

  • Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and Holidays.

Physical demands

While performing duties of the job, the employee will constantly be in costume. The employee will have to move about the arena and during events to interact and entertain clients/fans. Physical demands include working in excessive heat or cold, in a fast paced, active, and dynamic environment.

Work environment

The duties of this position are performed indoors and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud to during events and minimal during non-events
