The Manager, Brand Strategy is responsible for developing brand strategy that will help cultivate the next generation of lifelong fans and strengthen brand affinity with all fan segments for the Brooklyn Nets & other BSE Global properties. This role will liaise with key internal stakeholders and agency partners to implement positioning and messaging across marketing campaigns and initiatives.
The Manager will support brand vision and traits, naming and taglines, copywriting, audience personas, and communication strategies, to fuel brand loyalty and revenue generation opportunities. This individual will ask ‘why?’, translating insights into creative briefs and brand voice into copy with a clear vision. The role will be instrumental in brand campaigns, leveraging strong copy skills and collaboration with the Creative team to bring dynamic creative to life. To ensure key learnings are activated, this role will manage brand marketing recaps and make recommendations to evolve and improve strategy.
JOB DESCRIPTION – WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Support the process to build the Brooklyn Nets & other BSE Global properties brand vision, mission north-star priorities, campaign strategy and unique positioning
Translate brand positioning and tone of voice into copy across platforms and marketing channels
Coordinate naming, taglines and key messaging of brand campaigns and programs, using data to support decision-making and inspire solutions
Leverage research, critical thinking, cultural trends, and industry insights to define target markets and strategic direction for brand platforms and activation
Contribute to the season planning process, recommending a year-round programming calendar that is inspired by brand vision, priorities, campaigns, and positioning
Track and report brand health, and support the coordination of recaps and awards submissions
Help to establish measurement strategies and KPIs to assess the success of core programs
Collaborate with Creative, Content, Integrated Marketing, Game Presentation, Brand & Partner Solutions, Marketing Operations and Merchandise teams to ensure consistent brand messaging and creative is embraced across all channels and communication
Support BSE Global properties (Long Island Nets, NetsGC and Barclays Center), as appropriate
Candidate Profile – Who You Are
4+ years of brand strategy, advertising agency, and/or sports marketing experience
A skilled writer with the ability to tailor voice and tone, and who loves crafting language that is elevated, intelligent, welcoming and inclusive
A strategic storyteller who understands how to steward ideas from creative brief to final campaign
A creative problem-solver who can partner with Creative and Content teams to guide on-brief, on-brand and on timeline execution
Open-minded to critique and constructive feedback, using it as inspiration to evolve approach
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make decisions, and optimize outcomes
A highly collaborative, adaptable team player with capacity to excel in a fast-paced environment
Skilled in cultivating meaningful, trust-based internal and external relationships, including with agency partners
Keen eye for detail, with ability to communicate in a proactive and positive manner
An excellent written and verbal communicator (including presentation capabilities)
Knowledge of industry trends and ability to serve as a subject area expert
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or a related field
Salary Range
$73,000 - $84,000
Work Environment
Works primarily in an office environment but upon request will be expected to travel and attend games & other events on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
