The Run Prevention Fellow will aid in the Major League player development and advance scouting processes, providing meticulous analysis of pitching mechanics for the Major League coaching staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide mechanical analysis of Major League Pitchers for coaching staff

  • Serve as point person for internal and external mechanical review

  • Utilize video and data analysis to determine patterns and irregularities

  • Monitor and report on league-wide trends, actions, and advancements in the pitching industry

  • Complete exhaustive research projects for the Major League Run Prevention staff

  • Present research findings through an assortment of in-depth reports, videos, overlays, and presentations

  • Assist Manager, Pitching Strategy in completing daily technical tasks, such as the collection and importation of Trackman data and Edgertronic video

  • Contribute to the Club’s advance scouting and baseball operations efforts



  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Advanced knowledge of video editing software and tools

  • Deep passion for baseball, baseball analytics, and baseball strategy

  • Prior experience operating Edgertronic video cameras and Trackman software

  • Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work within a fast-paced deadline-driven environment

  • Excellent at written and oral communication

  • Ability to articulate complex data/concepts and filter to applicable personnel

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays


  • Proficiency with SQL

  • Prior experience working with Hawkeye and/or motion capture systems

  • Prior experience in baseball operations is preferred, pro scouting and/or professional playing experience a plus

  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus

  • Familiarity with the industry standard advanced metrics and latest evaluation methods
