The Baltimore Orioles are seeking a full-time Baseball Operations Coordinator to assist the front office with the day-to-day work of running a Major League Baseball team.
Use MLB’s online portal to create player contracts and enter transactions
Learn and help ensure compliance with MLB’s transaction and contract rules
Handle a variety of departmental administrative and logistical tasks in an efficient and organized manner
Help manage departmental budgets by tracking spending, processing invoices, and liaising with the accounting department
Create presentations for business and baseball operations executives
Work with other Orioles departments, such as IT, HR, ballpark operations, and tickets
Assist with the salary arbitration process
Help as needed with analytical projects related to roster construction, player payroll, baseball economics, and player acquisition opportunities
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Deep passion for baseball, baseball analytics, and baseball strategy
Excellent at written and oral communication
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Advanced with SQL and Microsoft Excel
Ability to work during games plus weekends and evenings
Proficiency with R or Python
Experience in the baseball industry or in an industry with applicable skills, such as consulting, finance, computer science, analytics, statistics, law, or academia
