
Training Camp Equipment Intern
The Houston Texans are in a season of growth and are seeking an individual for the position of Training Camp Equipment Intern. The duration of the summer Equipment Internship will be July 2023 through the end of Training Camp. Our Texans Teammate Habits:

Basic Function: Assist the Football Operations and Team Logistics department personnel in all responsibilities related to conducting Training Camp operations. The individual will be trained in all aspects of Football Equipment to include but not limited to equipment fitting, vendor relations, coach to player communication system, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare footballs for practice and game use.
Participate in facility maintenance by ensuring locker rooms are maintained daily.
Assist with issuing apparel and footwear to new players and Football Operations staff members.
Assist with laundry operations for all players, coaches and staff to following all team related activities i.e., laundry sweep, washing, drying, sorting and distributing back to its proper location.
Assist Equipment department personnel at practice with field set up and break down and overall practice operation.
Assist with shooting jugs pre, during and post practice.
Assist with packing for road games.
Assist coaches during individual drill work.
Assist with Down & Distance chains during team periods.
Perform various other tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Assistant Director of Team Logistics, Equipment.
Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and/or or premises and not in a telecommuting manner.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of Sport Soft Inventory Management System.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with multiple priorities.
Ability to work effectively as a team member.
Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
Ability to interact with players and personnel at all levels of the organization.
Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
Must have a customer service focus.
Must be self-motivated and eager to assist with all duties.
Must be a team player with a passion for sports.
Travel requirements: Possible domestic travel to accompany team to away pre-season games as required.
Education:
High school diploma required.
Completion of, or in pursuit of, a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university preferred.
Previous experience working in a Football Equipment Room at the collegiate/professional level required.
