Data Architect

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be the ambassador for data architecture and data best practice across business.

  • Part of a small team to transform data processes and shape the data landscape at F1.

  • Work with data partners to design, build and test data services, from ingestion, through harmonization and transformation into business usable data for analytics and activation.

  • Lead design of data models that meet business requirements.

  • Work with a Digital Data Analyst to develop and support data modeling across multiple business streams and work towards BI solution.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to shape and design new products and services that fit into our overall data architecture.

  • Communicate & translate complex data problems to F1 stakeholders.

  • Creation of accurate & informative technical documentation.

About You

  • An experienced data professional (Modeller, Data Architect or Solution Designer) with a passion for creating order within data structures

  • Identifying & analysing business, client or project requirements and translating them into technical deliverables.

  • Previous commercial experience with Data Warehouse solutions built on a modern cloud data services stack

  • A good understanding of cloud architecture within AWS including infrastructure, Devops and build of data services used in warehousing

  • High proficiency working within Python/Pyspark and SQL (ideally Redshift).

  • Working within an Agile delivery framework and utilizing Devops automation approaches for application deployment, development & test workflows and infrastructure management.

  • Solid understanding of database management concepts, such as data modeling, database design, and query optimization

  • Experience in Data warehousing/analytic end to end architecture

  • Comfortable with different modelling methodologies - 3NF, Dimensional and Data Vault

  • Strong communication and influencing skills used to drive the implementation of data design best practice.

  • To be comfortable managing and interacting with a wide number of teams and partners.

  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.

  • An adept problem solver who applies both innovation and logic to tackle complex problems independently.

  • A talent for design with a keen eye for detail.
