FC Dallas is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Video Director to oversee all aspects of our video and photography content team’s production, ensuring efficient and creative output across various platforms. This person will lead video production, livestreaming, in-venue content creation, and management of our video, photography and broadcast staff and equipment inventory. This person will also oversee our photography department. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have extensive experience in producing, editing, and shooting high-quality video content that captures the excitement of FC Dallas and resonates with fans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Video Production: Manage all stages of video production, from planning to execution, for in-venue, broadcast, and social/digital content for FC Dallas and all its affiliated properties (North Texas SC, National Soccer Hall of Fame, Toyota Stadium, etc.).
- Content Development: Collaborate with the content and marketing teams to develop compelling and creative video content for multiple platforms, including in-game productions, social media, and FC Dallas-related content on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of videographers, photographers, editors, and other production staff, ensuring workflows are optimized, deadlines are met. Manage scheduling of videographers, photographers and editors to ensure productivity is maximized organizationally.
- Equipment Management: Maintain, order, and retire video, photography, audio, and broadcasting inventory, ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition.
- Archive Management: Ensure footage inventory is maintained for optimal storage, relevancy and currency.
- Audio/Video Engineering: Serve as the technical expert, troubleshooting any audio and video issues that arise during shoots, production or live broadcasts.
- Live Broadcast Management: Oversee livestreams and other live broadcasts, ensuring high-quality production standards and seamless execution. Including but not limited to the management of all press conferences, shoulder programming, weekly shows, etc.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments such as marketing, communications, partnership marketing and event presentation to ensure that all video content aligns with the organization's goals and vision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Video Production, or a related field.
- Five or more years of experience in audio and video production, with a focus on producing and editing for digital and broadcast platforms.
- Expertise in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.) and proficiency with livestreaming technologies and audio/video engineering.
- Experience managing a video production team and working within tight deadlines.
- Strong understanding of video content trends, particularly in sports entertainment.
- Familiarity with managing video, photography, audio, and broadcasting inventory.
- Ability to multitask and handle fast-paced production environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the sports industry, particularly soccer, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with in-venue production for sports events.
- Technical understanding of both traditional and digital broadcast mediums.
- Bilingual a Plus.
