Job Title: Academy Head Coach U19

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Player Development, the U19 Academy Head Coach will focus on providing elite soccer instruction to the players within the FCC Academy program. This person will collaborate with the DPD on all aspects of Player Development including roster selection, style of play, mental and physical integration, curriculum development and delivery. This person will manage the training schedule, as well as plan and record training sessions. This role will assist when needed with development opportunities of players outside the Academy system and attend as necessary, events when needed to promote FCC programs or act as a Club ambassador. The Academy Coach will maintain and develop relationships with strategic youth soccer partners in the community. Due to the cyclical nature of the football industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company including the potential for extensive travel based on the team schedules. This is an exempt position.

What You’ll Do:

Assist in player identification and recruitment.
Assess performance and skill development for each Academy player and schedule evaluations on a regular basis.
Assist the Head Coach of other Academy teams as determined by Director of Player Development.
Be responsible for leading training for the Academy team in accordance with FCC training principles and methodology.
Provide key assistance in running the academy program while maintaining both safety and decorum as a priority.
Formulate an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) for each Academy player on the team.
Assists in advising college placement for all Academy players in conjunction with other Academy coaches.
Assess performance of Academy players to evaluate when best developmentally to move players up for games and trainings to older age groups.
Work towards the successful implementation of the Club Performance Plan and set the standard for the club in terms of knowledge and work ethic.
Be proactive in seeking educational opportunities to grow as a coach and to help with the development of the club.

Other duties as assigned.

Off-field responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Curriculum development, video analysis and general administrative duties including assisting in management of player records and files and maintenance of a scouting and recruitment database.
Identification and Recruitment of players
Attendance at all scheduled meetings

What You’ll Need:

USSF “A” Coaching License or better required.
Broad soccer related background with a minimum of 5 years of coaching experience, and professional playing background preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful but not required.
Successful completion of a background check including a clean Driving Record

About FC Cincinnati

About Mercy Health Training Center

In 2019, the club opened the state-of-the-art Mercy Health Training Center (MHTC) in Milford, Ohio. Designed by MSA Sport, the $30 million, 24-acre facility includes three full-size, lighted soccer fields – including two stabilized natural grass surfaces and one synthetic turf surface – as well as a goalkeeper-specific training area. The MLS team is housed in a 30,000 sq. ft., multilevel building abutting the fields, including a separate, 4,000 sq. ft. wing of the building for the FC Cincinnati Academy.

Additionally, there is a 3,000 sq. ft. maintenance facility on the property. In the design process, the MSA Sport design team benchmarked training grounds across the world, including the best in Europe, South America, and Asia. The goal of the design meets the original goal to develop one of the premier and most progressive team facilities in Major League Soccer and North America.
