To ensure the successful operational delivery of the ninth edition of this competition, we have set up a Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS). Its aim is to improve the experience of over 1.1 billion people watching the FIFA Women's World Cup, by delivering innovative solutions across all operational areas. The Host City Relations Manager be responsible for ensuring the successful co-ordination of government integration into the planning and delivery of the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia New Zealand 2023. The purpose of the role is to manage the operational relationship between governments and the Local FIFA Subsidiary (LFS) to ensure the seamless delivery of all government obligations. This role will involve building strong relationships with government agencies and managing the flow of information between LFS functional areas and government representatives.
Job duties
Manage the administration of government working groups ensuring a continual flow of information between governments and the LFS and mechanisms are in place to manage and resolve issues.
Lead and manage Government and associated stakeholder relationships to ensure the delivery of all Hosting obligations, commitments, and tournament related programmes.
Act as the Entity's central point of contact for Host Cities, and other Government Agencies ensuring, as appropriate, proactive sharing of information between these groups and the LFS and FIFA Zurich.
Support the successful implementation of the strategy for the operation and activation of Host City activities such as city theming, live sites, city transport plans and city volunteer programmes, in collaboration with LFS functional areas.
Develop strong relationships with all key stakeholders and ensure open and transparent communication is adopted and information is shared proactively.
Collaborate with the Football Australia Government Relations department to ensure seamless information sharing and escalation of issues as required.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:
Qualifications, experience and skills
Experience working with State and Federal governments within the major event environment.
Politically astute and a natural communicator with the ability to secure 'buy-in', and make key decisions for the business through critical problem-solving skills and the use of sound judgement.
Possess a good understanding of, and experience with, the machinery of State and Federal Government processes and procedures.
Ability to build, maintain and leverage relationships with credibility at all levels (internal and external).
Experience and knowledge of local culture.
