Key Responsibilities:
Cuban Players Research
Edit and add video to CLIPS of Cuban players video footage from Cuban Pro League Games, other televised events and scouts’ video
Maintain Cuban Defector Log that includes detailed biographical data on players that have defected from Cuba and are/will be available to sign
Create bios for players that have defected (as noted in Cuban Defector Log) that will include career stats from Cuban Pro League and National Team appearances as well as any other background data
Create bios for players that are still in Cuba but have been identified by scouts during International tournaments OR watching video OR their statistical performance in the Pro League
Japanese League Player Research
Edit and add video to CLIPS for all players on current NPB target list
Copy all Japanese game DVDs for Director, Pacific Rim Coordinator, Special Assistant to GM and office
Compile boxscores, stats, news clips, injury notes into database for future use – (replacing need of Japanese Stat service - $10-$15K annually)
Update DVD binders with all games chronologically, as well as update video log spreadsheet.
Amateur Player Research
Edit and add video to CLIPS for all amateur players that have been targeted and videotaped by our International Scouts
Enter International Scouts’ reports and follows into scout advisor
Compile boxscores, stats and news clips from all international tournaments to maintain database for future use with high profile international players
International Operations Department Research
International Signing Database – report/database that documents spending trends by organization and country over last 10 year period
40-Man Roster Project – report that breaks down origination of each organizations 40-man rosters to see where the talent is coming from
2017 Signings – disseminate report to International Staff of all international signings on weekly basis
International Operations Production reports (designed to compare our production with other orgs)
Organization Pref List – Identifies all international players signed from 1/1/06 to today, identifying prospects based on our pro scouting reports, MLBSB scouting reports and National publication top prospect lists – ranks most productive and least productive organizations
Int’l Players by Level – Identifies all international players signed from 1/1/06 to today, identifying players that have played in the ML, 3A, 2A, full season clubs – ranks most productive and least productive organizations and analyzes what region each organization is most productive
International Clips
Compile daily media clips in the following categories and distribute them to the International staff
World News (Latin America, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Europe, etc.)
Japan Box Scores (Includes stat lines for all players on target list)
Detroit Tigers Box Scores (Stat lines for all int’l signees at each level, including game reports notes on pitchers)
