- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that supports the overall marketing and business objectives of the Detroit Tigers
- Oversee the creation and publishing of all social media content, including graphics, videos, and written content
- Manage a team of social media professionals, providing direction and guidance to ensure consistency in tone, voice, and brand across all channels
- Develop content approval strategy and creation guidelines
- Demonstrate creativity in presenting the team's brand across social media while being ever mindful of internal sensitivities.
- Use analytics tools to measure and analyze the effectiveness of social media campaigns, and adjust strategies accordingly to optimize performance
- Stay up to date with emerging social media trends, platforms, and technologies, and provide recommendations for new opportunities to engage with fans and grow our audience
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, communications, and creative services to develop integrated social media campaigns that support key business initiatives
- Build relationships with influencers, fans, and other stakeholders in the sports and entertainment industries to amplify the Detroit Tigers' brand and increase engagement
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in social media, track record of success in developing and executing social media strategies that drive engagement and growth
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of professionals, providing direction and feedback to improve performance
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to adapt tone and style to fit platforms and audiences
- Expertise in social media analytics tools, with the ability to analyze data and adjust strategies to optimize performance
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Passion for sports and knowledge of the Detroit Tigers and MLB landscape, with a deep understanding of the team's brand and fan base
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the sports and entertainment industries
