PRIMARY PURPOSE: Oversee game day operations at the designated retail ballpark location. Supervise daily activities of teammates to ensure a high-quality fan experience while optimizing location sales revenue and fostering a positive image of the Cleveland Guardians organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Selling/Fan Satisfaction
- Strive to achieve daily sales goals at the assigned location by effectively driving sales results
- Exemplify the START AND HEART service model and employ suggestive selling techniques as a role model for sales teammates
- Uphold the “Image of Champions” to maximize sales potential and ensure fan satisfaction
- Utilize and comprehend sales reports to assist in location operations
- Act as the primary communication link between the management team and sales teammates within the assigned location
- Communicate any merchandise, sales team, or fan service issues to the Retail Ballpark management team
- Monitor and ensure that all teammates prioritize sales and fan satisfaction throughout their shifts
- Participate and contribute to the the training and development of retail ballpark teammates
Merchandising
- Ensure that the location adheres to company standards for visual merchandising, with all merchandise appropriately displayed
- Organize and maintain backstock and storage rooms (if applicable) according to company standards.
- Delegate daily merchandising tasks, such as restocking, sizing, "pinch & pull," and maintaining general cleanliness, to the sales team
- Execute timely and accurate markdowns and transfers, including stockroom management
- Communicate merchandising needs and opportunities to the Buying and management team based on research and hands-on insights
Operations/Loss Prevention
- Execute opening and closing procedures, including POS operations, merchandise recovery, and teammate huddles
- Ensure location is ready for business when gates open
- Safeguard assets by adhering to controls, keys, alarms, manager codes, and conducting bag checks
- Report any breaches of loss prevention policies promptly to the management team
- Communicate all staffing, merchandise, maintenance any miscellaneous issues in a timely manner to either management team or Ballpark BASE.
- Understand and perform all management functions on the POS system and PC, including transactions, returns, and troubleshooting
- Ensure proper receipt and processing of merchandise, including shipments and transfers
- Manage supply inventory levels and communicate needs to the management team
- Process all damaged merchandise efficiently
- Provide proper training to assigned store teammates on internal/external loss prevention methods
- Participate in cycle counts and inventories as needed throughout the season
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Supervisor and management team
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous sales, customer service, and or register experience preferred
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred
- Capability to frequently bend, stoop, reach, and lift
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to all organizational Health & Safety protocols
AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Available to work a minimum of 75 out of 81 home games (95%) during the months of April through October
- Available to work 100% of Jewel Events and Post Season Games
- Work entire assigned shift, this includes but not limited to pre-events, post events, and rain delays
- Work long and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and all holidays during the baseball season
- Attend all required trainings and daily briefings, as directed
