Job Title: Player Family Relations Coordinator

Department: Baseball Operations

Reports To: CEO; President of Baseball Operations; CCCO

FLSA: Seasonal, Hourly, Non- Exempt

Job Scope:

Work with Reds baseball, business, and ballpark operations personnel as the lead on-site administrator, service provider, and support liaison for Reds uniformed personnel’s families at all Reds Home Games and select spring training and aways games as needed; Assist in the coordination and execution of events involving Reds uniformed personnel’s families; Foster and develop a welcoming environment for families when attending any event or activity associated with the Reds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be present at every Reds home game up to four hours before first pitch and actively working through third inning or as long as needed; Remain on call throughout game to assist with needs as they arise or assist other Reds departments serving the families; Oversee planning for all on-field access for families and be present to execute as needed
  • Assist and assign work to player family relations intern

Communication: Responsible for communicating information, including but not limited to:

  • Management of TeamWorks Communications. Ensure all wives are signed up with unique email.
  • Respond in a prompt and professional manner to communications; calls/texts/emails/TeamWorks inquiries
  • Partner with Community Relations to determine if they are issuing player questionnaires so you can receive copies, will have to send out wives/family questionnaires individually and keep track of all responses
  • Help produce Reds Family Guide and Family Roster
  • Follow Reds Family Guide to explain processes we have in place for our families safety and security.
  • Steer requests for donations and gift bag deliveries to donations website.
  • Schedule regular meetings throughout the season as needed

Hospitality, included but not limited to:

  • Partner with Travel Manager on all transactions to welcome coaches, players and their families
  • Partner with ballpark operations on maintaining Wives Lounge and Babysitting service communications
  • Stock 1 case of water at Player Parking Entrance and 1 in Player Family Room, along with snacks by 2 PM every game day. Partner with DNC for nicer welcome amenities and trays/ for Opening Day/weekend
  • Coordinate and escort various groups for game day experiences, including batting practice and pre-game.
  • Partner with premium ticket department to fulfill requests for suites and coordinate availability

Administration including but not limited to:

  • Manage budget for Player Relations with oversight from
  • Update roster daily to ensure we’re including everyone new and excluding anyone sent to AAA or traded.
  • Facilitate Family Jersey orders monthly or as new players are acquired/ called up.
  • Administrative support; answering phones, data entry, event planning and various office duties.
  • Provide supervision and management of player family relations intern

Event duties including but not limited to:

  • Plan all social outings for families, Spring Training Family day, Cincinnati Family Day, suites throughout season, volunteer opportunities, concerts, golf outings, etc.
  • Management of Reds Families charities events, tickets, on-field ceremonies, pre and post-game programs, concerts, and off-site special events.
  • Partner closely with Supervisors in Ballpark Ops, SBM and Family Room Childcare Staff.
  • Partner with Clubhouse to manage game day promotional items for player families.
  • Partner with Player Relations/ Authentics for any player appearances or autograph requests.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Always conduct yourself with Reds Pride: Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Enthusiasm.
  • Calm, compassionate and considerate both in-person and in written communication with fans of all ages, owners, VIP game day guests, players, coaches, and their families.
  • Microsoft Office; Outlook, Calendar, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate large groups of people in a secure and sensitive area.
  • Attention to details, discretion, organizational & creative skills are necessary.
  • Bi-Lingual candidates preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Work is traditionally an office work environment; however, employee may have responsibilities where the employee may experience weather conditions prevalent at the time.
  • Work environment also in ballpark, suites, hospitality areas, seating bowl, tunnel, storage, based on needs.
  • Pick up/deliver VIP items within a 20-mile radius, reimbursed for any expesnse and mileage.
  • Enjoy a flexible work schedule that will allow you to work weekdays/nights, weekends, and holidays.

Expectations:

  • Adhere to Cincinnati Reds Organization Policies and Procedures.
  • Function as a role model within and outside the Cincinnati Reds Organization.
  • Prioritize workload while demonstrating efficient time management skills to ensure each event is correct.
  • Ongoing communication during spring training, regular season, post-season with Reds Families.
