Systems Analyst - Finance

THE POSITION

The Systems Analyst - Finance will be accountable to evaluate current processes and performance and to work closely with the Finance department to maximize application utilization. The Systems Analyst role is project driven and will support the business unit through specialized consulting and coaching in a variety of systems. The Analyst will have an opportunity to be a key player in planning, executing, and providing change management in the project life-cycle and post-implementation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILTIES

Your duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Leadership

  • Create and foster effective working relationships with finance team members, HR team members, business partners and external stakeholders;

  • Contribute to maintaining a cohesive, engaged, and positive team.

Microsoft Dynamics GP

  • Provide end-user support and training;

  • Evaluate and make recommendations for future module use, upgrades, and integrations;

  • Coordinate the implementation of new modules and/or upgrades;

  • Design user acceptance test cases for GP upgrades as required;

  • Maintain GP accounts and account structure for all reporting entities;

  • Implement standards and procedures for GP administration activities;

  • Formulate SQL queries for the efficient extraction of accounting data in response to user requests for bulk data;

  • Administer and maintain user access and security;

  • Together with the VP-Finance, external GP business partner and the CSEC Information Technology (IT) team:

    • Contribute to the development of mid to long-term strategies with respect to ERP and other “Best of Breed” business applications;

    • Assist in the evaluation of systems and business applications;

    • Provide assistance to maintain the system integrity of the GP business applications; and

    • Assist in the development of a data analytics strategy.

Solver BI360

  • Assist finance team and business partners with Solver / BI360 report design and general usage questions;

  • Assist in the design of dashboard reporting;

  • Maintain the event, GL account and metrics data dimensions in the BI360 data warehouses;

  • Provide end-user support and training;

  • Evaluate and make recommendations for future module use, upgrades, and integrations;

  • Administer user access and security;

  • Update budget templates strategically leveraging external BI360 business partner resources when necessary; and

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of forecasting templates.

Other

  • Adherence to CSEC Four Pillars;

  • Active participation in the Safety Program and follow all safety rules;

  • Other duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary education in Business Technology, Business Management or Management Information Systems preferred with a minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.

  • Strong project management skills, critical thinking and analytical skills;

  • Robust influencing, coaching and communication (both written and verbal) skills across all levels of an organization, coupled with a passion for seeing others succeed;

  • An Entrepreneurial spirit, with willingness to ‘roll up sleeves’ and work at all levels of the organization.

  • Understanding of Dynamics GP, Solver Bi360, SQL, CRM, KRONOS, and CISCO Jabber is desired;

  • Ability to think outside the box and find creative solutions is a must;

  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment is critical to be successful in this role;

  • Motivated and self-managed will also be considered desirable.
