Summary:


Throughout the Boston Celtics’ storied history, we have long stood for equality and respect, including drafting the first African American player, hiring the first African American coach, and playing the first all-black starting five. The Celtics have won a record 17 NBA Championships spanning five (5) decades, including eight (8) in a row from 1959-1966, and winning their most recent in 2008. In addition, forty-one (41) former Celtics players, management, coaches, or staff have been inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In December 2002 the team returned to local ownership for the first time since 1963.


The Jr. Celtics Academy (JCA) is the official youth basketball platform, which is dedicated to fostering positive youth development in the community through highly engaging basketball programs teaching the standards of Celtics basketball to kids, coaches, and parents.

In partnership with New Balance, we’re offering you the chance to join our Jr. Celtics team. We have a passion for putting young people first and providing engaging basketball programs for all skill levels while teaching basketball the “Celtics Way”. Come join us as we are pursuing our next full-time teammate, who will report to the Sr. Director, Youth Basketball Development.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage customer service inquires and communication tools and platforms: email, phone, LeagueApps, Typeform for events, Facebook JCA Parent Group, and LinkedIn Coaches Group
  • Collaborate with the Celtics email marketing team on newsletter content and database segmentation
  • Manage JCA analytics dashboard and our annual report
  • Implement, manage, and market our JCA Kids Zone at TD Garden
  • Help strategize, develop, and execute JCA Theme Nights
  • Host in-arena game day experiences


Qualifications:


  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience working in youth development and/or coaching
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience
  • Ability to lead by example, showcasing a strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Desire to build an enthusiastic and uplifting environment for everyone on and off the court, connecting with participants of all ages and abilities, from beginners to expert players
  • Unwavering dedication to maintaining a positive and safe environment for all
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a friendly, approachable attitude
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holiday/school break periods
