Senior Data Engineer

The Atlanta Falcons are looking to add a detail-oriented, methodical, and collaborative Data Engineer to our growing team. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in the organization and management of information for our Club. This role will involve overseeing and building ETL pipelines to efficiently store internal and external data, build and transform data into meaningful, context-rich datasets, and serve as the overall Zen master of our data. The person in this role will also assist in the maintenance of our web applications and help build additional tools to assist departments across the AMB family. This position will provide direct data support for all areas of the business.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Providing expertise in data storage structures, data mining, data cleansing and quality control

  • Making data architecture decisions, handling outside vendor data, building and optimizing ETL processes for both internal and external data

  • Continuous maintenance and architecture of data storage that is efficiently accessible based on the data size, type and intended use

  • Lead the management and administration of Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL databases

  • Create and follow data governance and security processes

  • Help implement and maintain foundational data that supports web applications and enhances research and decision-making through analytics support across AMBSE Operations

  • Assist in maintaining and updating SSIS packages, python scripts, and various API integrations

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field preferred, or demonstrated experience

  • Hands-on experience in the following technologies:

    • Microsoft SQL Server

    • MS & Azure SQL and Data Warehouses

    • Building and maintaining SSIS packages with Visual Studio

    • Building API integrations with both C# and Python

  • Version control

  • Experience working with cloud-based architecture (Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.)

  • Experience with building data pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Airflow, or other similar orchestration toolsets
