An exciting opportunity exists for a Machinist (Night Shift) within our Machine Shop Department.

Key skills & attributes:

  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of all machining processes.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of technical drawings, machining methods and work holding.
  • Experience of Hypermill a benefit but not essential.
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards working hours.
  • Be available to travel as and when required to fulfil the requirements of the role in which employed.
  • To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment
  • Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales
  • To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues
  • To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing
  • Environment.
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills
  • Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of the commitment to the Health & Safety policy. Keep working area clear and free from hazards.
  • To carry out routine machine maintenance.

The key responsibilities for this role are:

  • To help ensure that parts meet all deadlines and targets.
  • Produce finished accurate correct parts de-burred
  • To review processes and procedures on a regular basis.
  • To review and continuously improve machining methods and produce parts to quality standards.
  • To keep the ERP System up to date with latest transactions.
  • To ensure good communication between shifts.
  • To report major personnel issues to the Manager.
  • To assist in Quality Assurance within the department
  • To attend and proactively participate in meetings as required.
  • To demonstrate a flexible and understanding approach to the department’s needs.
  • To lead by example.
  • To meet the requirements and demands of the busy periods.
  • To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure
  • To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard.
  • To help maintain machinery using specified TPM initiatives.
  • To understand the COSHH data, data sheets and their location.
