The Role


We are looking for an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager to play a pivotal role in helping us to build an inclusive and diverse club where everyone feels they belong. In this crucial and exciting role, you'll oversee the delivery and ongoing evolution of the club wide Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) strategy.

You will take pride in supporting our employee networks and our ED&I leadership group. You'll be empowered to collaborate with a range of colleagues and departments to embed inclusion in our ways of working and deliver targeted initiatives to address diversity gaps in line with the ED&I strategy.

In addition, you will be entrusted to ensure our club meets its statutory duties under the Equality Act 2010 and the requirements of the Premier League Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Standard, Disability Confident scheme and the Football Leadership Diversity Code.

Your day-to-day


  • Oversee the delivery of the ED&I strategy - you'll ensure programmes are delivered on time and to budget and you will review and update the strategy based on data and insights to ensure we continue to make progress towards our goals
  • Establish yourself as the go-to expert - you will relish the opportunity to lend your expertise to colleagues across our club, creating and maintaining tools and frameworks that can support us to embed the strategy in an impactful way
  • Implement and reinforce the 'brilliant basics' of inclusion - you'll be trusted to drive innovation and continuous improvement across policies, processes, facilities and sites to embed inclusion into day-to-day operations
  • Coordinate leadership meetings - you will diligently plan and support meetings for the ED&I leadership group to provide oversight of the strategy with clear annual plans and targets across departments
  • Support network co-chairs - you'll passionately help them to create and run effective networks and to deliver annual campaigns, including supporting with delivery of milestone events
  • Aid teams working with external stakeholders - you will help functions working directly with supporters and local community to engage on important matters and chair the external advisory group on ED&I
  • Evolve our data capability - you'll develop a dashboard of appropriate metrics to monitor and report on our progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Maintain an awareness of industry trends - you'll eagerly keep abreast of industry developments and build relationships with key stakeholders including the FA, Premier League and other clubs to support our work, identifying opportunities to collaborate to push the industry forward

What we are looking for


  • Background in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion - you come with extensive experience in an ED&I focused role, applicants outside of sport are encouraged and welcome
  • Experience defining and managing ED&I programmes - you've previously created, driven and delivered initiatives from inception and you've got a history of implementing processes that support accountability and ensure inclusion is integrated into day-to-day operations
  • Credible expertise - you back yourself as a confident subject matter expert across ED&I topics
  • Track record of effective project delivery - you possess the ability to manage and deliver a range of crucial projects concurrently
  • Influential approach - you can lead and influence change effectively within diverse teams
  • Proven inclusive leadership skills - you're proud of your background in supporting inclusive leadership initiatives, with a focus on empathy, humility and fostering a culture of continuous learning
  • Data-driven mindset - you're able to interpret, analyse and use data to drive strategic decision making
  • Best-in-class communicator - you build and uphold impactful relationships with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders, tailoring your tone and approach as necessary
