We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our data management team and provide valuable insights and support to the performance and coaching staff.
This role will play an important part in developing and maintaining the club's football data infrastructure, supporting the men's first team, women's first team, women's academy, and men's academy.

Designing and implementing data storage and data pipelines using cloud platforms, preferably AWS or GCP.
Full ownership of the club's football data, working with various data sources, ranging from spreadsheets to fully integrated APIs.
Conducting data quality assurance to ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency across all datasets.
Producing clean, enriched, and aggregated datasets for use by the Data Scientist and wider team.
Collaborating with and supporting Medical & High-Performance teams, including sports scientists, physiotherapists, and fitness coaches.
Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of data engineering processes, tools, and datasets.
Adapting to the flexible schedule requirements of the football industry, which often includes weekend work.
What we are looking for
Previous experience in a similar data engineering role.
Proficiency in Python programming and familiarity with version control systems, such as git.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to execute tasks effectively and collaborate with others in a supportive manner.
Robust analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
Self-starter, capable of taking initiative, prioritizing tasks, and driving projects to completion with minimal supervision.
Flexibility and adaptability to the dynamic schedule requirements of the football industry.
Proficiency or familiarity with the R programming language (Desirable).
Experience working with big data technologies, such as Spark, PySpark, or Databricks (Desirable).
Fundamental understanding of mathematical and statistical concepts, including probabilities and linear regression(Desirable).
