
Financial Analyst
Performs financial review and analysis to aid in the decision-making process across multiple departments of the company. Works closely with the Finance department members in development of forecasting procedures, account analysis and financial statement review to assure accuracy of reporting. Maintains regular communication with budget managers throughout the company.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Liaise with multiple assigned departments including on all budgeting and forecasting matters
Perform financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking
Prepare and disseminate monthly financial results to assigned departments
Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements
Prepare relevant departmental journal entries for month-end closing process
Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with budget and forecasts
Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analysis
Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards
Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
Assist with various annual audits and tax schedules
Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial budgets, and forecasting
Strong fluency in Excel formulas and functions
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong work ethic, self-starter with effective time-management skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Proven job reliability, diligence, and dedication
Education and Formal Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required
Experience:
2-5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or Accountant
Material and Equipment Used:
Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Knowledge of NetSuite Software an asset
