
Coordinator, Hockey Development
The Hockey Development Coordinator will assist with on ice and off ice programming, general events, and develop new ideas to grow the game.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Support Hockey Development Street Hockey ecosystem with Raise the Pack P.E Program including PE Takeovers and Equipment drop-offs. This includes one-off street clinics.
Coordinate with locations for Coyotes Street Hockey league operations
Support Hockey Development Ice Hockey ecosystems with all on-ice programming, such as Little Howlers, Growlers, Lady G League, etc. Independently manage on ice programming when needed
Develop new to hockey programs including Try Hockey For Free, these programs include Street, Ice, & Roller opportunities
Responsible for cohesion between Hockey Development ecosystems
Responsible for transportation of Hockey Development assets and inventory management
Responsible for managing maintenance of Hockey Development activations and vehicles
Responsible for helping grow the fan base by promoting the sport of hockey through community and hockey events both on and off the ice
Develop new ideas to help grow the game and grow the fan base in the state through school assemblies, after school programs, and sport camp involvement
Required Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skill and Ability:
Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, coordinate and evaluate quality youth focused programs
Ability to maintain a well-respected presence and contacts within the hockey community at the regional, state and national level
Ability to mentor, instruct and inspire excellence in hockey development staff and participants
Demonstrated passion and commitment to the sport of hockey
Strong verbal, written and communication skills
Patience in working to achieve long-term goals
Must be comfortable working a flexible schedule in addition to normal business hours and home games, including weeknights, weekends and holidays
Conditioning conducive to long hours as well as extended physical activity
Possession of a valid driver’s license and good driving record
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
Ability to lift 40 pounds or more
Education and Formal Training:
Bachelor’s Degree in sports and entertainment marketing, education, coaching, recreation management or related field
Experience:
1-3 years of experience managing sports or recreation development for youth and/or adults
Prior record of organizational responsibility to include budgeting, staffing and compliance
Extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with the sport of hockey including the ability to skate
Thorough knowledge of the youth community and local market
USA Hockey Coaching Certification Level I is a plus
