Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Digital Content and Social Media Specialist, the Social Media Intern is responsible for maintaining and upholding the Arizona Cardinals social media standards through engaging content curation, timely coverage, and thoughtful storytelling that help achieve organizational goals.
Primary Job Duties:
The Social Media Intern will have daily responsibilities including, without the limitation the following:
Assist the Social Media team with various tasks such as capturing content during practice sessions, providing game-day coverage, and managing the @AZCardinals presence on Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Linkedin, and potential future platforms
Utilize social media reporting tools such as hookit and emplifi to track organic metrics and create weekly analytics reports based on key findings
Attend, cover, and facilitate day-to-day publishing across Cardinals ancillary accounts including @AZCardsCheer, @AZCardsInTheCommunity, and @AZCardsYouthFB
Monitor UGC and lead on community management of all accounts under the Cardinals umbrella
Ideate 1-2 innovative social concepts per week and present them for consideration
Update player information into database, adding new players and removing those who have left the team
Actively engage in social media and marketing meetings, providing insights and taking notes to distribute to the broader department
Monitor digital trends and best practices providing suggestions for improvement
Other duties as assigned by the social media team
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a degree with a focus in communications, marketing, social media, photography, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Availability to work up to 32 hours per week throughout the duration of the internship
Proven success creating engaging content and achieving audience growth
Baseline understanding of photography and videography as it pertains to social media platforms
Strong knowledge of football and the NFL
Strong knowledge of social media best practices
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a required
Flexible to work nights, holidays and weekends
Summary: The person best suited for this role is a proactive problem solver, possessing a strong work ethic, and a keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate must have the ability to work all Arizona Cardinals games, as well as work irregular schedules such as weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holiday work assignments. This person must also have a strong grasp on the nuances of various digital communities and be able to contribute to online conversations in a way that feels authentic to the brand.
